We understand how important good washing facilities are when camping. Our toilets and shower blocks are cleaned regularly and inspected daily to maintain a high standard of hygiene.

For those bringing a campervan, caravan or tent with electric facilities, we provide electric hook-up points across the site. These pitches must be booked in advance as they are in high demand, particularly during holidays and school breaks.
Our electric pitches allow you to charge devices, use kettles or fridges and enjoy small comforts such as lighting or heaters, all while staying surrounded by the natural beauty of the Lake District. The supply is safe, regulated and well-maintained to ensure reliability throughout your visit.
We have several clearly marked drinking water taps spaced conveniently across the campsite. These taps are suitable for filling water bottles, cooking or topping up your caravan or campervan tank. The water is tested regularly to ensure it is safe, fresh and reliable.
For waste disposal, we offer a chemical toilet emptying point that is easy to access and clearly signposted. In addition, we have a grey water disposal facility for campervans and motorhomes to drain used water from sinks and showers. Please use these responsibly to help us maintain a clean and pleasant environment for all.
A practical, sheltered washing up station is centrally located within the campsite, featuring stainless steel sinks, draining boards and hot running water. Please note that washing up liquid and sponges are not provided, so we kindly ask guests to bring their own.
This shared area makes it easy to keep your cooking equipment clean without disturbing the peace at your pitch. With a roofed structure and lighting, the washing-up area remains useful even in wet weather.
We are proud to be located in a protected and picturesque area of the Lake District and we encourage all our guests to help us keep it that way. We provide general waste bins as well as clearly marked recycling bins for paper, glass, plastics and cans.
We ask guests to separate their waste correctly and never to leave litter on-site or in surrounding fields and footpaths.
We know that for many visitors, a camping holiday just isn’t complete without bringing their dog along. Well-behaved dogs are warmly welcomed at The Old Post Office Campsite.
We ask that dogs remain on leads at all times while on-site and that owners pick up after them without exception.
Please bring your pet’s essentials and keep noise to a minimum so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful stay.

There are pubs, cafés and traditional inns in the surrounding area, many of which are walker-friendly and offer hearty meals made with local ingredients. If you need more extensive supplies, the nearest town is only a short drive away, offering supermarkets, petrol stations and outdoor gear shops.
